Planted Hybrid Poplar Cuttings Show Variable Resistance to Drought
The effects of an extremely dry summer and site conditions on the early development of nine hybrid poplar clones were recently investigated in central Pennsylvania. The results indicate the importance of genetic variation and drought resistance in the selection of hybrid poplar cuttings used for artificial regeneration on lowquality hardwood sites.
