Propagule Processing: | METHOD OF CLEANING: Seed lot is first processed using a Westrup Model LA-H laboratory brush machine, with a solid mantel, at a speed of 3, to remove seed from stems and de-awn. Seeds are then air-screening, to remove chaff and inert material, using an office Clipper, with a top screen: 14 round and a bottom screen: 50x50 wire mesh,low speed, and low air. Lot was finished by hand under a microscope. Number of Seeds per Pound: 1,890,000 Purity: 89%, X-Ray 100 Seeds: 80% Filled | ||

Other Comments: | With Prairie Junegrass not all native ecotypes produce viable seed. Many ecotypes generally go through anthesis, but not all will produce viable seed at an economically acceptable level. This equates to low yield. |
