General Distribution: I. laurina is found in the West Indies from Hispaniola and Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to Greneda and Trinidad and Venezuela; also from western Mexico and Guatemala to Panama.
It is found primarily in the north west of St. Croix from valleys to mountain tops.

Propagule Collection: Ripe fruits were collected directly from the tree.
Propagule Processing: The seeds were removed from the fruits, rinsed with water and planted immediately. Seeds cannot be stored.
Establishment Phase: Seeds were planted directly into small pots using a commercial growing mix.
Seeds germinate in 4 to 7 days after sowing.
Active Growth Phase: Growth rate is moderate after establishment.
Length of Hardening Phase: 1 month
Other Comments: Plants did not perform well in pots, high mortality after 6 months for unkown reasons.
