Heteroplastic Grafting in the Genera Acer, Fraxinus, Picea, and Abies
A study was initiated to determine the grafting compatibility of the several species collected for inclusion in the arboretum. It would be valuable to have this information available before undertaking a larger grafting program such as that involved in the establishment of seed orchards for interspecific hybridization and arboretums for the preservation of valuable phenotypes. This paper is the first year's results of a part of this study in compatibility.
