Evidence For And Against The Effectiveness of Field Selection in Northern Conifers
Cost, factors which influence response and reported results of field selection of northern conifers were reviewed. Despite a long history of field selection, published data relative to its effectiveness are limited and inconclusive. Reports deal almost exclusively with height growth and provide an indication that plus-tree selection has generally been ineffective for four northern conifers.
