Approaches to Integrated Pest Management of Fusarium Root Disease in Container-Grown Conifer Seedlings
An integrated approach to management of Fusarium root disease in container-grown conifer seedlings includes reducing levels of pathogen inoculum within the seedling growing environment, enhancing host resistance to infection and disease development, encouraging organisms competing with or antagonistic toward pathogenic Fusarium spp., and minimizing use of chemical fungicides whenever possible. Integrating these procedures into standard growing regimes should greatly reduce impact of Fusarium root disease.
