Root Zone Heating Systems

Increased earliness and higher quality crops can be achieved using root zone heating. If the root zone temperature is maintained at the optimum, air temperature in the greenhouse can be lowered 5 to 10 °F (about 2 to 5 °C) reducing heat loss and thereby, energy consumption. Root zone temperature is more critical than leaf temperature in achieving good plant growth.
