Chapter 10 - Shortleaf Pine

Shortleaf pine was included in Mohr's (1897) paper on the timber pines of the southern United States. Mattoon (1915) discussed its economic importance and management. A bibUography contains published material on shortleaf pine by subject (Haney 1962), and the silvicultural characteristics have been described (Fowells 1965).
