Measuring Southern Pine Seed Quality with a Conductivity Meter - Does it work?
Preliminary tests of an ASA-610 Automatic Seed Analyzer from Agro Sciences, Inc. with five species of southern pines indicate that valid estimates of seed quality are possible from leachate conductivity measurements. Several factors which influence the results are discussed. Studies still in progress are expected to bring measurement errors to within acceptable limits.
