The Rapid Expansion of 14 Selected Cottonwood Clones
In the late winter of 1969 a project to produce 600,000 Superior Cottonwood cuttings was started by the Southeastern Area, Division of State and Private Forestry at the Forest Service's Southern Hardwoods Laboratory at Stoneville, Mississippi. Plans are to distribute the cuttings in the fall of 1971 to cottonwood-growing State and industrial nurseries in the lower Mississippi River Valley.
