A Root-Bound Index for Container-Grown Pines

Root-bound seedlings have been a concern of nursery managers for more than four decades. When container-grown seedlings are root-bound (or pot-bound), survival, growth or stability might be reduced after outplanting (van Eerdin and Kinghorn 1978; Hulten 1982).
