New Challenges in Chestnut Research

Based on past and current chestnut research efforts an important challenge for future chestnut research is to maintain research programs that are realistic and properly designed so that the data can be analyzed. The tasks of reproducing and establishing new chestnut stands or altering natural hardwood stands to allow reintroduction of the chestnut species are monumental.
