General Distribution: E. trichodes is found from South Dakota and Illidnois south to Texas and Arkansas in sandy soils in prairies and open, sandy woodlands.

Heating pretreatment resulted in 100% germination.
Pretreatment with potassium nitrate resulted in 63% germination.
